After the events of the first part, the writer 1win Alan Wake has been locked in a Dark monastery for 13 years — a mysterious place where evil rules. The hero tries to come up with a new story that will turn into reality and help him escape, but all in vain. Largely because of Mr. Scratch, the evil doppelganger of the writer and the embodiment of Darkness. Meanwhile, in the city of Bright Falls, the main location of the 1win first part of the series, a series of ritual murders takes place. FBI agent Saga Anderson is sent to investigate the case, but she finds herself confused. Local residents address her as an old friend and express their condolences regarding the death of her daughter. But Saga is sure that her child is alive and has never even been to Bright Falls. Soon the agent realizes that all these strange events are somehow connected with Wake, who disappeared without a trace a long time ago.
